Something that brings familiarity and great joy to me is the language of my homeland. Scotland (and in my case Fife) is a place where the most mundane of conversations is delivered in a dialect that has a twinkle in its eye. The vocabulary has laughs built-in and a second-nature, well-placed one-liner can disarm the most determined curmudgeon. Its vernacular is a work of art and one where the working classes excel on a daily basis. It is no wonder the area is teeming with wordsmiths. This collection is my love letter to home.
